“Skin Tight” hitmaker Kaakie returns to the music industry after years out

Grace Kaki Awo Ocansey, popularly known as Kaakie, a former dancehall queen and high-grade signee, has announced her return to the music business following a long absence.

Her return was motivated by her belief that it was now appropriate for her to reclaim her place in the music business.

In an interview with 3FM, a radio station based in Accra, Kaakie disclosed that she would be returning. In her words, since she stopped making music, her spouse, many industry people, and others have generously supported her. Kaakie said; 

“In reality, I entered on purpose. So by God’s grace, I’m coming back to the scene, and we are working hard. I haven’t just been silent. Not by myself, though, as I have been working behind the scenes. In addition to meeting folks who were there, my spouse has been pushing me and has shown me true support.”

In 2018, the “Skin Tight” hitmaker took a break from music and moved to the US in search of better opportunities and to begin a family.
