A woman has sparked conversations online after revealing how a close relationship allegedly ended following a disagreement over a wedding gift.
According to the lady, she spent nearly ₦100,000 supporting her friend’s wedding, only for the bride to allegedly block her after she failed to send an additional ₦25,000 gift.
“I spent almost ₦100k on her wedding, she blocked me for not sending ₦25k gift,” she lamented, expressing disappointment over what she described as an unfair response.
Her story has generated mixed reactions on social media, with some users sympathising with her and questioning whether a friendship should be measured by the value of gifts. Others argued that expectations around weddings and financial support should be clearly communicated to avoid misunderstandings.
The incident has reignited discussions about modern friendships, wedding expenses, entitlement, and the pressure many people face when attending or supporting major life events.
As the debate continues, many are asking whether the issue was truly about the money or whether it exposed deeper problems within the friendship.
