Shock and grief have gripped Ghana’s corporate world following the sudden and tragic death of a top executive of Promasidor Ghana in a devastating highway accident.
Patrick Osei, widely known as “Pomo”, a respected Marketing Manager overseeing key regions across the country, lost his life in a violent crash on the Koforidua–Tafo highway at Suhyin on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
Eyewitness accounts paint a chilling picture of the final moments before the crash. Osei was reportedly driving toward Koforidua when a Hyundai H400, attempting a risky overtake of a motorcycle, suddenly swerved into his lane.
In a desperate bid to avoid a head-on collision, he veered off the road—but what followed was catastrophic. His vehicle slammed violently into a tree, leaving it completely mangled and trapping him inside.
Despite efforts by bystanders to rescue him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Osei was not just another executive—he was a key figure in Promasidor Ghana’s operations, overseeing major regions including Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, and Volta. His sudden death has sent shockwaves through colleagues, partners, and the wider business community.
Tributes have begun pouring in, with many describing him as a vibrant professional whose influence stretched across Ghana’s marketing landscape.
The tragedy has once again thrown a spotlight on the dangers of reckless overtaking and speeding on Ghana’s highways—especially along the busy Koforidua–Tafo stretch, where impatience and risky maneuvers often turn deadly.
As the nation mourns, one haunting question lingers: how many more lives must be lost before the roads become safer?
