A wave of grief and outrage has engulfed Kumasi after Apostle Gabriel Oppong, father of slain beautician Sally Benson, spoke publicly following her tragic death in an alleged violent assault by her boyfriend.

In an emotional and heartbreaking account, the grieving father says his daughter—described as a hardworking and ambitious entrepreneur—was brutally beaten to death in what police are treating as a domestic violence incident.

The case, which has shocked the public, involves Sally Benson, a well-known Kumasi-based beautician and business owner who was allegedly attacked by her longtime boyfriend during a confrontation at his residence.

According to police accounts, the confrontation escalated after Sally visited the suspect following suspicions of infidelity. She was later allegedly assaulted until she collapsed and was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

“They told me my daughter was gone” — devastated father speaks

Speaking through tears, Apostle Oppong recalled the moment he received the devastating news, saying the family was left shattered beyond repair.

He revealed that Sally’s friend, who had accompanied her, later narrated the final moments leading to her death—an account he says has deepened his pain and demand for justice.

“She went there… and she never came back,” he reportedly lamented, insisting that his daughter was full of life, determination, and plans for expansion just days before her death.

A life cut short in the middle of big dreams

Sally Benson was not only a beautician but also an entrepreneur running a cosmetics studio and hospitality venture in Kumasi. Reports indicate she had recently secured space in Accra to expand her business—just days before her life was cut short.

Family members say she was in the middle of building a future she worked tirelessly for, making her sudden death even more painful for loved ones.

Suspect in custody as investigations continue

Police have arrested the boyfriend, identified as Francis Arthur, who has been charged with murder and remanded into custody as investigations continue.

“We want justice” — family demands accountability

Apostle Oppong has made a passionate appeal to authorities, insisting that the law must take its course.

In his words, the family is not seeking revenge but justice for a young woman whose life, he says, was taken far too soon.

As the case heads back to court, public attention remains firmly fixed on what has become one of the most widely discussed domestic violence cases in Kumasi in recent times.
