In a dramatic turn of events, Charterhouse has come out forcefully to shut down swirling rumors that the government is deliberately sidelining the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) amid an escalating venue controversy.
The organizers, clearly under pressure from mounting public speculation, have issued a firm clarification: there is no coordinated attempt by the government to undermine or frustrate the prestigious awards scheme.
The controversy, which has been gaining traction across media platforms, centers on uncertainty surrounding the choice of venue for the upcoming event. Critics and industry insiders had begun to question whether behind-the-scenes interference was at play—fueling claims of a possible clampdown on one of Ghana’s biggest entertainment showcases.
But Charterhouse isn’t having it.
In a strongly worded response, the organizers dismissed the allegations as misleading and unfounded, insisting that ongoing discussions about venues are purely logistical—not political. They emphasized that planning challenges are not unusual for large-scale events and should not be misconstrued as targeted obstruction.
“We want to make it absolutely clear,” the statement stressed, “that there is no agenda to sideline the TGMAs.”
Despite the reassurance, the situation has already sparked intense debate within the entertainment industry, with fans and stakeholders watching closely for any further twists.
As anticipation builds, one thing is certain: the spotlight is no longer just on the awards—but on the drama unfolding behind the scenes.
