A political storm is brewing as Governs Kwame Agbodza comes out swinging, forcefully rejecting explosive allegations of a staggering GH¢120 million overpricing tied to the Dodo Pepesu–Nkwanta road project.

In a fiery defense of the government’s ambitious “Big Push” infrastructure agenda, Agbodza dismissed the claims as misleading and baseless, insisting that every pesewa attached to the project is justified. According to him, critics are twisting figures and peddling misinformation to score political points.

“This is not just inaccurate—it’s deliberately deceptive,” he stressed, pushing back against what he describes as a calculated attempt to tarnish a critical development initiative.

The Dodo Pepesu–Nkwanta road, a key artery expected to boost connectivity and economic activity in the region, has suddenly become the center of a heated national debate. Allegations of inflated costs have triggered public concern, with many demanding answers and accountability.

But Agbodza is standing firm. He argues that the pricing reflects current market realities, project scope, and logistical challenges—not corruption or mismanagement. He further emphasized that due processes were followed and that the project aligns with broader efforts to accelerate infrastructure development under the “Big Push” policy.

Supporters of the initiative say the backlash is politically motivated, while critics insist the figures must be independently scrutinized.

The battle over the Dodo Pepesu–Nkwanta road project is no longer just about asphalt and contracts—it’s about trust, transparency, and the true cost of development.
