Ghanaian music icon Mzbel has made it clear: she’s here for the music, not politics. The veteran musician recently addressed the National Democratic Congress (NDC), insisting that she is not interested in any political appointment or government role.

“I appreciate the support, but my focus is on performing and entertaining my fans. I don’t want a political title—just book me for events,” Mzbel emphasized.

The outspoken artist has been a staple in Ghana’s music scene for decades, and her message is a reminder that her passion remains on the stage rather than in political circles. Fans and event organizers are taking note, with many praising her for prioritizing her career and connection with her audience.

Mzbel’s statement comes amid speculation about entertainers being courted for political positions, but she is drawing a firm boundary: her craft, not politics, comes first.

It hurts to hear people say I’ve been “sorted” and forgotten them. The truth is… I stood strong, I gave my all, I mobilized people out of pure belief, not because I was promised anything. And till now, nothing has been done for me or my team I have not turned my back on anyone. Im simply minding my own business
