Residents in several rural communities within the Jomoro Constituency have received a major boost in connectivity following the facilitation of a telecommunication network expansion project by the area’s Member of Parliament.
The initiative, which targets 11 previously underserved communities, aims to bridge the communication gap that has long affected residents, businesses, students, and local institutions in the area. For years, many of these communities struggled with poor or completely absent network coverage, making basic communication and access to digital services extremely difficult.
Speaking about the project, the Jomoro MP emphasized that improving network connectivity is essential for development in today’s digital world. According to him, reliable telecommunication services will not only make communication easier for residents but will also open new opportunities in education, healthcare, security, and local commerce.
“Access to reliable network services is no longer a luxury—it is a necessity,” he noted. “Our communities deserve to stay connected with the rest of the country and the world.”
The expansion project involves the installation of new telecommunications infrastructure, including network towers and signal equipment, across the targeted communities. Once fully operational, residents will be able to make clearer calls, access mobile data, and use digital platforms that were previously unavailable or unreliable.
Local residents have welcomed the initiative with excitement and relief. Many say poor network coverage has been a major obstacle for years, affecting everything from emergency communication to mobile money transactions.
Some students in the affected communities also expressed optimism, noting that stronger internet connectivity will greatly support online learning and access to educational resources.
Business owners are equally hopeful that improved network access will help them connect with customers, conduct mobile transactions more efficiently, and expand their operations.
Community leaders praised the MP for pushing the initiative, describing it as a transformative step toward rural development in the constituency.
They believe the improved telecommunications infrastructure will help integrate the communities more fully into Ghana’s growing digital economy while also enhancing security and access to information.
The project forms part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure and living conditions across the Jomoro Constituency, ensuring that rural communities are not left behind in the country’s technological advancement.
With installation works ongoing and network signals expected to improve significantly in the coming months, residents say the long-awaited development marks the beginning of a new era of connectivity for the people of Jomoro.
