In a heart-stopping tragedy on Thursday, Dunamis International Gospel Centre clergy leader Pastor Abraham Francis Aduh Ojo lost his life in a terrifying encounter with suspected bandits while returning from a crusade in Makurdi, Benue State.
According to family sources, Pastor Ojo ran head-on into an armed bandit operation along the highway on February 12, 2026. In a desperate bid to escape the attackers, he lost control of his vehicle and crashed fatally, dying instantly, his nephew confirmed in a heart-wrenching Facebook post.
“My uncle was coming from Makurdi after a crusade when he encountered bandits. He tried to run, but the accident claimed his life immediately,” the grieving relative wrote, as shock rippled through the family and local community.
The devoted clergyman, admired for his service and dedication to ministry, has been remembered as a faith-filled shepherd whose life was cut tragically short. His sudden death has sparked an emotional outpouring from church members and sympathisers across the region.
The incident highlights the perilous reality facing travellers on Nigeria’s insecurity-prone roads — where even spiritual leaders are not spared from violence in parts of the North-Central region.
Families are now mourning the loss and preparing for his burial as calls for prayers and support flood social media in response to the harrowing news.
