4X4 will feature their old friend Shaka Zulu, who will be released from prison soon after serving time for robbery in 2010

Popular television star and musician, Richard Cobbina, known by his stage name Shaka Zulu, is set for release from prison today. The artist, recognizable by his unique dreadlocks, was jailed for robbery in 2010.

Cobbina, who was featured in the music video ‘Fresh Ones’ by 4X4, was on the cusp of fame when he was arrested, putting a pause on his promising career. He was also featured in a Tigo television commercial and made appearances in the local sitcom, Efiewura.

In August 2010, Shaka Zulu and three of his accomplices were arrested for robbing some Nigerians at their residence in Spintex, Accra. The group was pursued by the victims, leading to their arrest. They were subsequently sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for both conspiracy and robbery, to run concurrently.

The robbery saw the convicts making away with laptops, cash, and other personal items of their victims. In a later confession, Shaka Zulu revealed that they had recruited a fourth person, Wise Grey, alias Biggy, to assist with the robbery. Biggy reportedly provided the weapons used during the operation.

All eyes are now on Shaka Zulu as he prepares for release, with many curious to see what his next steps will be.
