22-year-old boy cuts off his 58-year-old mother’s hand so he can use her fingerprints to steal

A 22-year-old boy from South America has been arrested for fatally stabbing his mother in a gruesome incident believed to be linked to a “black magic” ritual.

Sandra Maria dos Santos Carvalho, 58, was discovered with multiple knife wounds, including the severing of her hand, at her residence in Salvador, Brazil.

Her son, Jose Natan Carvalho, was apprehended shortly after the disturbing discovery on Saturday, April 20. During his court appearance, he confessed to the violent act, admitting to cutting his mother’s neck and hand with a knife.

Allegedly, he sought to keep her fingers to access funds in her bank account. According to reports, the motive stemmed from a belief that his mother had cast a spell on him, leading him to retaliate with a ritualistic killing.

Sandra Maria’s body was found wrapped in a sheet and towel in the Boca da Mata de Valeria neighborhood.

Jose Natan’s cousin alerted authorities after noticing a foul odor emanating from the family home where both the victim and suspect resided.

Police indicated that the body had started to decompose, suggesting that the murder occurred several days prior.

The case is under investigation by the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) in Salvador, with judicial authorities also considering involvement from the Health Care Network (RAS) and Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS).
