The Ghana Police Service in it preliminary report has given a blow to blow account on what actually led to the unfortunate car crash which resulted in the death of Bibiani MCE, Late Alfred Amoah and his driver, Samuel Gyasi. In their report, the Police explained that the MCE and his personal driver were travelling to Accra from the Western North Region using his own private car with plate number GC2060- 18.
Along the Eastern Regional high way, an articulated truck driver per the Ghana Police Service is said to have veered off his lane and made way onto the path used by the Bibiani MCE. Information gathered from the Ghana Police Service stated that the MCE and his driver after crashing got trapped in the vehicle for some time and both died on the spot before they could reach the accident scene.
With the help of the National Fire Service from Bunso and Kibi the bodies of the deceased were removed and sent to Kibi Government Hospital where they were confirmed dead by the Medical Officer on duty. Their bodies were deposited at the mortuary for preservation, identification and autopsy. Meanwhile, the accident happened of the road at Akim Fisher on the Accra- Kumasi Highway and the a Man Diesel Articulated truck No.
AS 4229- X from Kumasi direction is suspected to have veered off its lane and crashed head- on with the Nissan Patrol 4×4. The truck driver after the crash vanished from the scene and has taken refuge in nearby places to avoid arrest. Regardless the Eastern Regional Police command is now on a manhunt to arrest him.
The MCE was reportedly returning from a meeting including all President Akuffo Addo’s appointees on how to move the country forward but met the unfortunate accident after the said meeting.
