The Member of Parliament for North Tongu on the ticket of NDC, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has outlined to the IMF some projects and expenditures under His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo that should be cancelled if Ghana’ s loan request is accepted.

1)First and foremost, Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa has to the IMF to stop with immediate effect the building of the National Cathedral. ” Suspend the unconstitutional public funding of the US$400million National Cathedral project which government has so far diverted over GHS200million without parliamentary approval”.

2) Secondly, the NDC MP has pleaded on the IMF to cancel projects such as the proposed new €116million new Accra International Conference Centre project, 5 STEM universities, Boankra Green Technology City, Marine Drive Project, Stadia for Abuakwa and Sunyani, Agenda 111, new embassies in Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico because he sees them as bogus and waste of resources.

3)Most importantly, Okudzeto Ablakwa told the IMF that Akufo Addo’ s government is pregnant and over loaded so they should reduce the number of Ministers, abolish Deputy CEO positions, dismiss the CEO for the ridiculous non- existent Keta Port and slash the outrageous 337 political appointees at the Office of the President by more than half before the loan is even given to Ghana.

4) Another pressing element that Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa wants the IMF to do urgently is to ban all oilgarchic presidential chartered jet travels which have cost suffering taxpayers in excess of GHS34 million over the last 13 Months.

5) Finally, he would want the IMF to cancel some unnecessary monies paid to people as ex gratia and announce an immediate review of Ghana’s end of service benefits regime and scrap all ex- gratia payment for political and  non-political beneficiaries. If possible ex gratia should be cancelled by the IMF.
