The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral of Ghana and Former Chairman of Pentecost Church, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah for avoidance of doubt have stated that there is absolutely nothing fishy or corrupt with regards to the National Cathedral.
Speaking in a press conference held by the Secretariat on Wednesday, 29th June, 2022, Prof. Oyinah said people who still have doubt should stop peddling falsehoods and direct their concerns to them for clarification. ” We must emphasise that there is nothing fishy about the monetary affairs.
We cannot betray the trust the nation, through the President, has given to us. And so, we will appeal that issues of clarification are directed to the Secretariat” According to him, allegations of corruption raised by some individuals against the National Cathedral have been taken serious and answers have been provided.
The Secretariat would like to put it on record that no money has been stolen are reported. ” We consider the issues that have framed the issues on the National Cathedral very serious, and that is why we asked the Executive Director to respond, which he did on June 17, 2022″ In addition, he revealed that since the beginning of the project, the Christian community has raised about ¢32 million in support of the project.
Nonetheless he’ s optimistic that Ghana with a Christian population of about 20 million can do better and contribute more to fasten the project.
The Board led by Former Chairman of Pentecost Church, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah including some eminent men of God in Ghana are poised and focused on the delivering the mandate which has been bestowed upon them by His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo. Regardless of the backlash, the focus is to complete the National Cathedral within the estimated time.
