He seems not to be giving up anytime soon. The North Tongu legislator Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa is back on the presidential travels. This was after the presidency attempted to respond to his allegation of rented private jet in the president’ s recent travels. After falling to convince Ghanaians that the president didn’ t rent a jet, Mr. Eugene Arhin tried to explain the circumstances that lead to the renting of the jet.

In his explanation, the secretary to the president said Nana Addo needed to get to Kigali on time to deliver a keynote address meanwhile there was airspace strike hence the renting of the jet. Eugene added that the president also met with investors while in Brussels.

But Ablakwa had a response. He told the presidency that Nana Addo could had met with the investors if he had travelled with the presidential jet. On the argument that Ghana’ s presidential jet is not meant for long distance travels, Ablakwa said that assertion is not true. He said the presidential jet can travel nine hours non- stop. At best it may do a fueling stop over which is normal for all aircrafts.

He added that when Nana Addo travelled by commercial to France recently, the jet had to stop for refuelling at Burkina Faso before it continued it’ s journey. It became a give and take between the NDC MP and the presidency.

In a related development, Hon. Ablakwa has reveauthat the presidential jet has made it’s first long distance travel in the last 13 months. This is after the jet made a trip to Portugal. He said it only stopped at Lisbon for refuelling before proceeding to Portugal successfully. Ablakwa did not state the purpose of this travel and who the occupants were. Check his post on Facebook below:

” Ghana’s Presidential Jet makes it first trip to Europe in over 13-moths after government spokespersons had claimed some ghostly experts advised it shouldn’t be used for presidential trips outside Africa.

It landed safely in Faro, Portugal at 12: 05am today after a 10: 43pm transit stop in Lisbon.

We shall win this battle to protect the battered public purse and save millions of Ghana Cedis (GHS34 million so far) which must be rechanelled from luxury jet operators to address the needs of the Ghanaian people including paying suffering NABCo trainees, procuring textbooks after 3- years of neglect and attending to agitating school feeding caterers demanding an increase from a cruel 97p.

The Ghanaian people shall triumph.”

Meanwhile a leading member of the NDC in Ashanti Region has bemoaned the blatant neglect of projects in Ashanti Region by Nana Addo government. Hon. Joseph Yamin said sods were cut for a number of educational and health projects but since Nana took over, he has suspended all of them. Yamin said instead the preuis spending the money on luxurious private jet. He made this assertion during an interview on Nhyira FM I’m Kumasi.
