Deputy Minister In Hot Waters After Publishing Achievement On Facebook

The deputy minister for lands and natural resources Hon. George Mireku Dukar is in trouble after posting his achievements on social media. The minister who is also the MP for Tarkwa Nsuaem in the western region posted pictures of a loan agreement approved by parliament to supply water to his constituency. He expected praises but his constituents rather bashed him. According to residents of the area, the constituency wouldn’ t be facing water problems if not for the activities of illegal mining.

Meanwhile the minister is the kingpin behind this illegality. One constituent who goes by the name Hon. Cocoa took to social media to express the concerns and disappointment of the people. ” Sir, I have taken notice of a post on your Facebook page (Hon. George Mireku Duker- MP Tarkwa- Nsuaem) which sort to portray a certain false phantom impression as if good your Constituents are in a dire need of portable drinking water.

In the post, you categorically stated that Parliament of Ghana has approved ” Seventy- Four Million, One- Hundred and Forty- Five Thousand, Five Hundred Euros ( € 74, 145, 500 ) for the Tarkwa Water Supply Project. ” It is essential, but a misplaced priority at this moment in Tarkwa. Sir, there is no records or any available data to establish the fact that good people of Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency are confronted with portable drinking water challenge. Moreover, the imminent threat to portable drinking water in Tarkwa and it’s environs is the illegal small- scale mining (Galamsey) in river Bomsa which is the only source for water treatment by Ghana water company for you Constituents and you are aware of the situation, but silence.

As deputy minister for Lands and Natural Resources in charge of Small- scale mining, what are the effects, measures and strategies you have put in place to ensure this menace in river Bonsa will be halted or you are only mindful of enriching yourself through Galamsey as MP for same jurisdiction?

Further, your oblivious posture on this particular activities is making me believe that you either sanctioned the illegality happening in river Bonsa or you are aware that it is party boys perpetrating same.

Finally, I would like to let you know that at this  juncture, the most pressing need of your Constituents is not a portable drinking water as you claimed, but a motorable road network.      It is trite to again note that, Tarkwa- Takoradi Road is in a very dilapidated condition which is life threatening to commuters, therefore, act swiftly to save your people.

Please enough of your camouflage populism devised to gratify your NPP stooges and poodle I’m Tarkwa. Thank you.”
