NPP Elections Will Be Sold, The Highest Bidder With Money Wins- NPP Man Hints

Ghlagatin reported as, A former New Patriotic Party National Chairman aspirant and Political Science Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Dr Richard Amoako Baah has hinted that the upcoming NPP primaries slated in July will be only be an auctioning event for the higgest bidder. Dr Amoako Baah added that over the years elections in the New Patriotic Party have not been about what an aspirant is capable of doing but rather how much money he or she has.

Competence according to him is out of the equation so far as he’ s concerned. He predicted that Ghanaians should expect a massive monetization in the elections and those who will be able to pay more will get the respective positions.

He explained that he’ s not just making speculations or wild guesses but his assertion is purely scientific and based on what transpired at the Regional primaries. ” I am of the view that the NPP elections will just be another business as usual where the highest bidder will win”.

I am basing my premise on the just ended regional elections where thousands of Cedis were shared among delegates to influence their decisions, so this will be no different. ” He further lamented that the electoral college is the bedrock of corruption in partisan activities as a country.

In his opinion, the so called Electoral college system used by NPP where a few privileged people called delegates have the right to elect party leaders is the reason for this monetization. Unlike the NDC where each member can vote making it difficult to bribe everyone, the few delegates gives way for bribery.

He concluded that those who don’t have much money should just forget because the highest bidders will emerge as winners.
