These kings have little or no formal political power and usually fulfill spiritual and ceremonial obligations to members of the community. Below are the five richest kings in Africa.

He is the richest king on the African continent. According to Forbes, King Mohammed VI has an estimated net worth of anywhere from $2 billion up to $8 billion.

Oba Obateru Akinruntan (Nigeria)

He is regarded as one of the richest Nigerian kings and also the second richest African king. He is the traditional ruler of Ugbo land– one of the influential communities in Nigeria.

He is the king of the Ashanti Kingdom, home to Ghana ‘s ethnic group. He ascended as king of the Ashanti in the year 1999 and has since  served as the political and spiritual head of the Ashanti people.
