Top 4 Musicians Who Correctly Predicted Their Own Deaths (Video)


On January 10th, David Bowie died two days after his birthday. On his birthday, the musician released his 25th and last studio album Blackstar with the single Lazarus released a month before.

In his music video for ” Lazarus” , the singer was seen tormented lying on his deathbed. The said music video ends when he retreats into a dark closet. Some say that was his way of saying goodbye. He wasn’ t the only musician who was aware that death was creeping up behind him. Here are four other musicians who eerily predicted their deaths.

Tupac Shakur

Two years before his murder, the rapper in an in- depth interview with Entertainment Weekly, accidentally forecasted his death. When asked where he would be in 15 years, Tupac answered ” Best case [scenario]? In a cemetery, not in a cemetery— sprinkled in ashes smoked up by my homies” .

He then corrected himself ” I mean, that’ s the worst- case! Best case [scenario], multimillionaire, owning all of this sh*t! ” . He died on September 13, 1997, after a hail of gunfire pierced the vehicle he was in.

Jimi Hendrix

The legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix recorded a song called The Ballad of Jimi two years after releasing his debut album Are You Experienced.

According to him, the song which was recorded in 1965 talks about a named Jimi and how he was going to be dead in five years was dedicated to the memory of his best friend named Jimi who happens to be a guitar player as well.
“Many things he would try, For he knew soon he’d die. Now Jimi’s gone , he not alone. His memory still lives on. Five years, this he said.   He’s not gone , he’s just dead.”

He died on 18 September 1970 ( five years ) due to asphyxia

Jim Morrison 

According to VH1, the musician who was mourning the loss of his colleagues Janis Joplin was out with his friends at L. A.’s Barney’s Beanery in October 1979.

Morrison predicted his death by saying ” You’re drinking with number three. That’s right, number three. ” On 3 July 1971 Morrison died under unclear circumstances in Paris.

Lynyrd Skynyrd

The American band which was huge in the 79s on October 17,1977, the band released the ironically named album Street Survivors. The cover of their album featured the posing and being engulfed by flames.

A plane which they aboard crashed in a forest near Mississippi three days later. The plane crashed and killed lead singer Ronnie Van Sant, guitarist and vocalist Steve Gaines, backing vocalist Cassie Gaines ( Steve’s older sister), the assistant road manager, the pilot and co- pilot.
