Today, 22nd June, 2022 would have been the 75th birthday of Ghana’ s First President under the 4th Republic, Late John Jerry Rawlings. Late J. J Rawlings died at the age of 73 after short illness at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The former President before been elected led two coups. At the height of famine in Ghana, he used his Charismatic leadership and made sure wealth is distributed among each and every Ghanaian.
Corrupt leaders had no chance under his administration and also made sure that discipline is enforced. Even though he was criticised, he was the man for the poor. A great tree has fallen, and Ghana is poorer for this loss. Africa has lost a stalwart of Pan- Africanism and a charismatic continental statesman.
Although he died 2 years ago, Ghanaians have still not forgotten him. In these times of economic crisis, many thinks Ghana needs a charismatic and disciplined leader like J. J Rawlings.
” This is the kind of man Ghana would hv needed at this point in time as our President. R. I. P. P papa. J Ghana will forever remember u. Chairman we missed you dearly. . . Ghana is bleeding. . . . .
