Have you stopped wearing nose mask? Do you no longer observe social distancing? Well, bad news for you then. Ghana according to verified information from the Ghana Health Service has recorded first five cases of moneypox virus in the Ghana.

However, more trouble looms for those who have stopped wearing nose mask. According to the Director Of Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Aboakye, although the President His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo has made the wearing of nose mask voluntary, it is advisable to start wearing yours if you have stopped.

He explained that money pox as at now has no cure so the best way is to bring up strategies to prevent it’ s spread and wearing of nose mask can save your life from the deadly virus.

Speaking in a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, 8th June 2022, Dr Aboagye said ” Application of hand sanitizer is very crucial, even the use of mask and avoiding body contact as much as you can. What it means is that no country can escape it at the moment, we just have to find strategies to deal with it such that we can contain it and possibly, break the chain of transmission. ”

Scientific studies according to him has proved that the disease can be transmitted through body contact and other means such as the covid. You are therefore at a high risk of contraction without nose mask.

The Director of Ghana Health Service went ahead to hint on some symptoms and signs to look out of in respect to monkey pox. ” Monkey Pox causes discomfort, body weakness, sometimes fever but it is unlikely to cause death. Even if there will be cases of death, you need to have large numbers of it in people who are mostly already weak, they are those who are likely to die.
