Renowned Ghanaian music producer, Wei Ye Oteng has expressed worry over how hit songs in Ghana are being killed on social media in the name of promotion.

In a write up sighted on his Facebook page, Oteng claimed the new trend of promoting hit songs with dance moves is killing our songs faster than allowing it to organically grow to gradually become hit.

According to him, no matter how great a song is, if another person’s song comes with a dance move it will over take it.

In Oteng’s words, he was expecting songs like ‘Down Flat’ and ‘Kwaku the Traveler’ by Kelvynbwoy and Black Sherif respectively to gain grounds in the system but to his surprise, ‘Buga’ has taken over making the Down Flat and KTT lived a very short life.
