The programs manager for Ghana Integrity Initiative, Mary Addah has unexpectedly descended on the incumbent President, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo again over the rate of corruption activities in the country amongst prominent politicians.
Speaking in a recent interview on JoyNews, the Programs Manager for Ghana Integrity Initiative, Mary Addah highlighted that, even though the initial stages of the Akufo Addo government seemed to fight corruption but failed as a result of not having the right resources, the incumbent government seem to have no intention of putting corruption to a stop in the country in their second term even though the special prosecutor is ready to put all hands on deck in other to bring justice to all corrupt government appointees. ”
It seems interesting and somehow mind- blowing that for a President who decided that, there are current circumstances and the constitution, the best way to go was for the establishment of an office that will promote the fight against corruption and as quickly as 2017 ensured that that box was safe. But then in his second term, he appointed somebody who has shown that he is committed to fighting corruption.
So you ask yourself, what at all is the serious task that we need to ensure that we constitute the board nine months after the person has taken office. The President has shown no commitment to fighting corruption” , the Programs Manager for Ghana Integrity Initiative, Mary Addah emphatically revealed.
