Wa Naa’s Palace Finally Set The Records Straight Over Circulating Video Of Flogged And Shammed Couple- Read Details

The circulating video and photos that witnessed the unexpected flogging and shaming of a man and woman at Wa Palace undoubtedly raised massive concerns amongst most Ghanaians as Wa Naa’ s palace has finally taken it upon itself to react to the unexpected incident.

Speaking in a recent interview on TV3 Network over the alarming issue, the spokesperson at Wa Naa’ s palace highlighted that, the unaccepted act that got the victims punished at the Wa palace was no crime considering their unspeakable action.

In addition to this, the spokesperson at Wa Naa’ s palace revealed that the Wa community was a mixture of both Muslims and Christians, and hence committing such an offense and publicizing it was never going to be left unattended hence victims were flogged and shammed, and not otherwise. ”

The majority of the people are either Muslims or Christians and both religions have all such levels of misconduct that premarital conduct in itself in terms of religion is an unacceptable act than to go ahead to publish it. My understanding is that even in the laws of Ghana, the production and publication of such videos should amount to a crime of assault.

But if that was a reality then whoever also sanctioned the action that took place here, what happened to them in terms of the flogging or shaming is another aspect of the question; whether that is right or wrong” a spokesperson at Wa Naa’ s palace emphatically stated.
