Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector- General of Police (IGP), has summoned the organizers of the much- discussed three- day march with weaponry to the front of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).
The organizers urged the police at a previous press conference in Accra to allow them to bring their own registered weapons during their rally against several injustices in the country.
In a letter to the police, the organizers claimed that all guns carried by protestors or outsourced security staff would be for personal protection only, and that all firearms would be properly licensed under the Arms and Ammunitions Act of 1972. (NRCD).
Last Monday, however, the authority obtained an order barring the protesters from holding their planned demonstrations on June four, 2022.
On Monday, June 6, 2022, two members of the group, Mr. Mensah Thompson and Mr. Listowell Nana Opoku, took to the Ghana Yensom morning program, presented by the sit- in presenter, Odehyeeba Kofi Essuman, to declare the invitation granted to the group’ s leadership by the IGP.
They claim they are willing to meet with the IGP to hear what the police have planned for members of the organization as a result of their choice to demonstrate.
” We are planning to meet him (the IGP) as a team to hear what he has to say in our effort to march against the countless injustices under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- ruling Addo’ s New Patriotic Party, ” they added.
The demands Oliver Barker made in that request were out of place, and Paul exposed what kind of guy he is.
