Alban Bagbin Sends A Strange Message To IGP Dampare- Read What He Said


Alban Sumana Kingsford Baagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, has finally addressed a bold and odd statement to the Inspector General of Police regarding police brutality towards citizens.

Speaker Bagbin stated that because the Parliament House is the nation’ s epicenter of democracy, neither he nor Parliament will ever condone police brutality.

If it continues, he said, the House will be obliged to take drastic actions to halt it. ” Police brutality will no longer be tolerated in this nation. Ghana’ s parliament is at the heart of the country’ s democracy. The principle is straightforward. If this continues, we will be forced to take drastic measures to stop it. ”

Bagbinn revealed these to the IGP during Parliament’ s deliberation of the Defence and Interior Committee’ s report on the military- civilian brutality event in Wa, Upper West Region. In the previous few months, there has been an all- time high in police brutality towards.
