SEE PHOTOS: Qatar To Donate One Portable Stadium To Ghana After World Cup- Mustapha Hamid Reveals


The Sports Minister and Member of Parliament for Yagaba- Kubori Constituency, Hon. Mustapha Ussif paid a 3 day working visit to Qatar ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

The Minister as part his discussion made a request Qatar’ s Minister of Culture and Sports, H. E. Salah bin Ghanim Al- Ali for Qatar to donate one of the dismountable stadiums to Ghana Qatar will be hosting the 2022 World Cup later this year.

As part of their preparations towards the tournament, 8 remountable stadiums where matches will be played. Interestingly Qatar will not be using most of the stadiums after the tournament plans donating it less privileged countries.

Ghana enjoying great and friendly bilateral relations with Qatar at governmental level, Ghana’ s Sports Minister, who paid a three- day working visit to Qatar over the weekend, is already eyeing a share of the facility through an improved relationship with Qatar Sports authorities. According to the Sports Minister, Ghana stands a better chance of getting the portable stadium to be imported to Ghana.

Aside the stadium helping the development of football in Ghana, he believes strongly that the fantastic stadium when donated to Ghana will serve as a source of revenue or better still a tourists site in Africa. Hon. Mustapha Ussif took the opportunity to tour some of the state of art stadiums that will be hosting the upcoming World Cup.

As part of his dreams as the Sports Minister, he wishes to secure the stadium for Ghana at all cost as against the many competitors who are also eyeing for the stadium.

Hon. Mustapha Ussif wished the Ghana Blacks Stars the best of luck ahead of their game against Madagascar.

“My best wishes to the Black Stars as they commence the 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar this evening. May they emerge victorious at the end of the game”.
