Mahama’s Funeral And Burial Date Finally Announced- Find Out When And Where

Son of the former Second Lady who doubles as the NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Yendi Constituency, Hon. Farouk Aliu Mahama has finally announced the date for the funeral and burial of his late mother Hajia Ramatu Mahama and a final farewell.

Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama passed into eternity at the Korle- Bu Teaching Hospital on 7 April 2022, at the age of 70.

Per arrangements made by the family, the late Second Lady of Ghana will be laid to rest and given her final burial rite on Saturday, 4th June, 2022. On the day of burial, The President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo and other dignitaries such as Vice President Bawumia will reportedly grace the occasion.

Her son, Hon Farouk making the announcement said his mother (Hajia Ramatu Mahama) served this country as a Second Lady with humility and we as a family are happy with the support Ghanaians have given the family throughout the passing of our dear mother. ”

I want to use this medium to call on all friends and sympathisers to attend the final funeral rites here in Accra Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama was married to the late former Vice President of Ghana Alhaji Aliu Mahama(Ing). Together with the late vice president, Hajia Ramatu had four children.

During the tenure of the late vice president, Hajia Ramatu championed and advocated for women participation in decision making process of the country and empowered the underprivileged particularly Ghana through diverse social intervention projects to improve lives.

Throughout her life as the second Lady of Ghana, she devotedly complemented the effort of his husband who assisted Former President Kufuor to deliver a better Ghana agenda. On June 4, she will land of the living to join her husband who has already passed on.
