A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and cousin of His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo, Mr Gabby Asare Otchere- Darko has added his voice to the latest s£x addicts who were flogged at the palace in Wa.
Two lovers who were said to have recorded themselves whiles having s£x were giving hot lashes at the Wa Palace after the video leaked.
Mr Gabby Otchere Darko reacting to the decision of the Chief and town folks wrote on twitter that Ghana is a country governed by laws and as such there is the Ghana Police Service and judiciary who are mandated by law to punish offenders.
He continued that the s£x video was between two adults who mutually agreed to explore in bed. To him it was unnecessary for the Chief to have flogged them in public. ” Two consenting adults (man and woman) decide to film themselves having s£x, apparently.
The tape goes viral and some in the community believe they have a responsibility to flog the couple publicly? Insane! ” Meanwhile, social twitters users strongly disagreed with Gabby Otchere Darko.
According to them, although. they are adults, they should be responsible for their actions. ” Is it not rather Insane that two consenting adults failed to keep a video of them having s£x from the public? We glorify adulthood rights so much but neglect adulthood responsibilities. Sir, flogging them is not right no no.
However, two consenting adults can never do anything they want. Our kids may have access to these videos and decide to think it’ s fine to do same”.
In other news, the Regional Police Command have invited the Chiefs of Wa to answer questions and why they decided to take the law into their own hands.
