The chief Executive officer, Anthony Morrison has recently come out to express his immense disappointment in the agricultural minister aside revealing that, the sector will likely be hit with another strike if the possible measures are not been put in place as they prepare to enter the production season.
Speaking in a recent interview on Citi news, the chief Executive officer, Anthony Morrison highlighted that, the agriculture minister has introduced certain unexpected bans which will definitely drive away investors in the country’ s agricultural sector hence, slowing down production and profit hence an imminent strike action to express their displeasure. ” We need to see a stronger agricultural sector and stronger regulated sector.
As a matter of fact, calling in the minister to step down is not just calculated on his personality or otherwise because we are in this country three weeks ago, the minister gave a permit for the export and I asked which data reformed that decision.
We are in this country and the minister yesternight has put in place a ban on the export of maize, asuya and I asked myself, what data was available three weeks ago; why do you bring in a ban when we are now going into the production season.
If somebody is bringing investment into the sector at this time, and you are bringing in a ban, the person is going to think twice” the chief Executive officer, Anthony Morrison emphatically revealed.
