Troubles don’ t go around looking for people but people rather goes around look for trouble. Dome Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Sarfo has landed herself in fresh trouble as Ghanaians attack her for using American Accent.
The absentee MP in an attempt to explain why she has been off the politcal scene for the past months was interviewed by JoyTV. Hon. Adwoa Safo speaking from the United States of America didn’ t hesitate using their accent in her explanation.
For almost an hour of interview, her Ghanaian accent was nowhere to be found. However, a good number of Ghanaians cannot keep their cool as to how the MP’ s accent has changed within the short period she stayed in US.
Popular one among the many critics is ace journalist Kelvin Taylor who claims Hon. Adwoa Safo faked her accent. According to him the NPP Member of Parliament found it very difficult to construct simple sentences in English few years ago but now she feels she’ s above the law because of some fake American accent. What annoys him most is the fact that whiles some NPP folks are defending her, she’ s busily faking accent abroad.
His criticsm was shortly followed by controversial actress and comedian Afia Schwarzenegger. Afia Schwar also took to her IG page to register her displeasure over Adwo Safo’ s fake accent. She wrote; ” The accent and the wig is making me tired.
“5 months in America and she already adopted to their way of speaking. I was wondering to their way of speaking. I was wondering whether she was speaking in her own voice. She should just hurry up and finish her accent course in America and return back to Parliament” social media users commented on the supposedly fake American accent.
