The spokesperson for SALL, Dr. J. K. Addae has finally come out to set the r curds straight over the recent initiative by the community to petition parliament as the house resumes after being sidelined by the Electoral Commission on countless occasions.
Speaking in a recent interview on JoyNews, the spokesperson for SALL, Dr. J. K. Addae highlighted that, the SALL community will however put all hands on deck in other to petition both the Electoral Commission and Parliament to allow the community elects their members to represent them in parliament even after countless rejections by the EC. ”
We have petitioned the Electoral Commission for over two years now and they have never responded to any of our petitions nor have they written back to us. Many times, we only get some news from the news portal; they have never communicated with us. We currently don’ t belong to any community.
I think we are the only community in Ghana without any representation in parliament; actually, we don’ t even know where we belong to.
We are like an island within Ghana. Exactly a year ago, we paid a courtesy call to the Honorable Speaker to highlight the challenges we are going through.
Then he did assure us that, we should bring a petition to parliament since they will be able to resolve our issue. One year on, I think we hadn’ t heard anything substantial from the parliament” , Dr. J. K. Addae emphatically stated.
