Paul Adom Otchere has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the late New Patriotic Party general secretary’ s will.
Because of the large assets he left to his family, the late Kwabena Owusu Afriyie has garnered considerable attention even after his death. Surprisingly, the will included Achimota Forest land parcels.
Paul Adom Otchere of Good Evening Ghana believes Sir John did a lot of work both abroad and in Ghana and earned a lot of riches. People are curious about how Sir John obtained his riches, but they overlook the fact that the man was nearly 70 years old and had worked his entire life, thus he deserved it.
Paul highlighted concerns about young men in their twenties possessing large homes and properties, as well as why no one is speaking up instead of attacking a man who had led a decent life and gone away.
Because the purchases in Sir John’ s will have been declared null by the Lands Ministry, Paul Adom has urged Ghanaians to put a stop to the debate. The controversy around the Achimota Forest is still raging.
The narrative began on Tuesdays, when news that the forest had been sold spread like wildfire.
Later, the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources appeared to calm suspicions that the forest had been sold. Only a small fraction of the forest has been declassified and delivered to the land’ s original owners, according to Samuel Abu Jinapor.
However, one of the points of contention has been released of hectares of land.
Instead of the 118 hectares that had been settled upon, the Minister released over 361 acres. In his arguments, the Minister stated that they had just agreed to an existing arrangement reached during the John Dramani Mahama administration.
