Professor Ransford Gyampo, a lecturer at the University of Ghana, has written a letter addressed to Samuel Jinapor, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for the Damascus Constituency, in response to the continuing Achimota Forest saga and Sir John’ s stolen WILL.

Prof Gyampo wrote the following on his Facebook page on Wednesday, May 25th, 2022: ” Open Letter to the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources” . Greetings, Mr. Jinapor! You’ re being lauded as an action guy with caution, which is to be expected from a young dynamo with boundless energy.

I’ ve talked to a lot of well- intentioned folks about the Sir John property acquisitions, and many of them aren’ t sure what’ s going on. Some, on the other hand, are pleased with your prompt action. However, I believe your elation must be well- directed.

It’ s important to remember that dealing with dead men is simple because they don’ t and can’ t talk. Look deeper to see if any of your fellow living souls have gained territories they weren’ t authorized to have. Deal with them to make your joy more meaningful.

If you can accomplish it with the same fervor and vigor, you will have the full support and respect of the many discerning Ghanaians who are cautiously optimistic about the genuineness of your quick initiatives right now. “The letter comes in the wake of Samuel Jinapor’s intervention, which has ordered the Forestry Commission to declare all lands in the ACHIMOTA forest and the Sakumono Ramsar Site supposedly belonging to the late Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie (Sir John).

The controversy around the Achimota Forest is still raging. The narrative began on Tuesdays, when news that the Forest had been sold spread like wildfire.

Later, the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources appeared to calm suspicious that the Forest had been sold. Only a small fraction of the forest has been declassified and delivered to the land’s original owners, according to Samuel Abu Jinapor.
