In addition to this, Ofosu Asamoah made it clear that, even though everything had gone up in the country in terms of inflation amongst others, Ghanaians should be considerate considering how the government is working around the clock to fix the country. ” The government is trying to cut down how much it spends to the extent that all government appointees have their salaries cut by 30% alongside their fuel and other allowances.
It will depend on how well they are going to negotiate. The government is in a position to pay points unless they will have to make sacrifices.
I am not sure that now because inflation is 26% or fuel has gone up by 25%, everything in the country had gone up by 26%. Water hasn’ t gone up; electricity has not gone up and not all food items have gone up. So, I think we should be a little bit considerate of the government’ s positioning for now” , Ofosu Asamoah emphatically revealed.
