Ghana Telecoms Finally Reveals Another Issue About E- Levy; Boldly Settles The Debate Over E- Levy Rollout- Read Details

The CEO of Ghana Telecom has recently come out to finally settle the debate on the current effectiveness of the implemented E- levy bill.

Speaking in a recent interview on CitiTube, he revealed that all outstanding deductions from customers were settled and that, Ghanaians have to be well educated on how the E- levy works in terms of transactions among others. ” So generally, for any big project of what we did and I can tell you that the E- levy project was a massive project.

We are talking about over 300 charging entities that had all gone live on a particular date. So, I think generally, what we saw on the 1st of May for a project was a successful launch but there were some challenges that came, unfortunately.

By this time most of the wrong charges have been sorted out. We noticed that when we went live charges like those who were buying airtime were being charged, that has been fixed. There are a few people who were being overcharged that has been fixed” , the spokesperson for Ghana Telecoms, Ken Ashigbi emphatically stated.

In addition to this, he revealed that there is only one challenge that currently persists and that is to approach the government and ask that, a common platform is being established to enhance the effectiveness of the bill and not otherwise hence, reducing unexpected deductions.
