Rain storms have been falling over the nation this weekend.
The torrential rains have wreaked havoc in several areas of the capital. This is a scenario that has been playing out for decades, and successive administrations have done little to stop it.
Today, Monday, May 23, 2022, on Johnnies Bite on TV3, Johnnie Hughes disclosed a news item from 2018 in which the Works and Housing Minister at the time, Samuel Atta Kyea, stated that Ghana’ s sewage issues would be effectively rectified. The minister went on to say that the government has set aside 17. 3 million cedis for this purpose.
He went on to say that President Akufo- Addo had promised to provide $200 million to help fix the problem, which arises every year. Johnnie questioned why Accra continues to flood despite these investments. He wanted to know where the money went.
The Minister, according to Johnnie, slept on the job, and his predecessor, Asenso Boakye, is also sleeping on the job. Johnnie also chastised NADMO for doing nothing since Saturday to assist those who had lost their homes. NADMO was either underfunded or the institution had squandered the funds, according to Johnnie.
Surprisingly, when Johnnie exposes government officials and institutions, he writes long letters to Media General’ s TV3 to be given space to justify his position.
“Go take a bath and get to work, NADMO.”
We’re not going to give you any time to explain yourself. Take a bath and then go to work. Breakfast is optional “Get to Work,” Johnnie said.
