The introduction of the most talked- about Agyapa deal had undoubtedly raised lots of concerns amongst the largest opposition party especially most Ghanaians considering how the same policy was heavily rejected in parliament alongside the 2022 budget.
With respect to this, IMANI has finally come out to provide tangible evidence proving that the controversial Agyapa deal should not be allowed to be implemented under the administration of the Akufo Addo government.
Speaking in a recent interview on JoyNews, the spokesperson for IMANI Ghana revealed that, no government should be given the power to deny future governments revenue in tuning the affairs of the country like the Agyapa deal.

” Every evaluation that has been shown; everyone who looks at the analysis independently has come to the conclusion that the valuation that they are using for the asset is perhaps one- third of what you could get if you are using arm’ s length transaction.
That is not even the most important point, the most important point is that no government should be given the power to deny future governments of revenue in the fashion that is being proposed.
We have seen instances where consistently the current government takes future streams of income that other governments will use, from to load it; keep that money for today and forget about future generations” , a spokesperson for IMANI emphatically revealed.
