The high rate of inflation in the country under the administration of the incumbent government has undoubtedly raised lots of concerns amongst Ghanaians as NAGRAT has finally taken the opportunity to intervene aside sending another bold message to the Akufo Addo administration.
Speaking in a recent interview on JoyNews, the spokesperson for the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Angel Carbonu took the privilege to highlight some of the major challenges including inflation and high taxes that are causing more harm than good to the ordinary Ghanaian across various regions in the country.
In addition to this, Angel Carbonu also highlighted that it will be a good initiative for government to increase the salaries of workers.
” This is an indication that prices or the change in prices of goods and services are at all times high and this inflationary. This April, inflation is the highest in 18 years, an indication that the worker is gradually getting worse off day by day.
From the conception negotiations, this year will be influenced by the inflation behavior as one can put it because you and I are aware of the proposals made by PUF to PURC by the water company and the electricity company.
We are also aware of the escalating prices of transportation announced by the transport organization just a fortnight ago and of course general price increases of other goods and services. Government’ s own transaction fees have gone up, the minimum of about 15%” , Angel Carbonu emphatically stated.
