The former chair of the public interest and accountability, Dr. Steve Manteaw has recently raised massive concerns amongst Ghanaians after he took the opportunity to address the economic affairs of the country aside from revealing another unexpected secret about the most anticipated heritage fund collateralization brouhaha.
Speaking in a recent interview on the most talked about issue on TV3 Network, the renowned Ghanaian politician and former chair of the public interest and accountability, Dr. Steve Manteaw unexpectedly revealed serious secrets concerning the Akufo Addo government’ s plans for the heritage fund Collateralization aside highlighting that, 9% won’ t solve that massive problem hence not economically prudence unless the government improvises and not otherwise.
” The heritage fund is just 9% of the net petroleum revenues that upholds the state.
We have and we are at liberty to spend as much as 91%. So, if 91% of the petroleum revenues couldn’ t solve our problems, I do not see how 9% can resolve anything for us.
I believe that, if we let the heritage alone, future generations perhaps will have better use of that money and at least it would be the only way we can demonstrate to them that, once upon a time, this country was actually bestowed with enormous hydrocarbon resources.
