The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong at long last declared his intention to contest in the upcoming NPP primaries as the party’ s flagbearer in 2024.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’ s declaration was made live on Net2 TV by his spokesperson, Kwaku Anan during a program hosted on 16th May, 2022.
Mr Kwaku Anan reading a letter issued by the controversial MP said ” After long pondering to have a clear observation and assessment over activities across the political airspace, he has finally come to terms with the reality, the belief, conviction and (sic) decisive that he can take the mantle” However, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong hopes that New Patriotic Party delegates will vote a unifer who will solidy the party to break the 8 in 2024.
Nonetheless, he expect that each candidate will be treated fairly without favouring an aspirant. ” I am hoping that level playing field that allows us to elect our next presidential candidate will also bring us a candidate who can unite our party.
Because competition, inevitably, will bring some divisions in the party but we are the ruling party so, there is the responsibility on us to conduct ourselves in a way that reduces cracks.
Blowing his own trumpet, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong stated categorically that he has all qualities to become the President of Ghana. When given the opportunity, he will take Ghana to the promised land within first 100 days in office.
In view of the above declaration, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has already stated that he won’t be contesting for the Assin Central Constituency Parliamentary Seat in 2024.
According to him, he will step aside for a new candidate to take over the representation of Assin Central while he goes all out for the ultimate which is the flagbearership of the party.
