Prof. Gyampo Describes Arrest Of FixTheCountry Convener As Selective Justice- Details Inside

Professor Ransford Gyampo, a political scientist, has argued that the detention and incarceration of social change activist Oliver Barker- Vormawor for an unsubstantiated traffic violation was selective justice.

Despite the fact that the court acted fast in response to the accusation, he claims that a situation involving the killing of a military officer five years ago is still unresolved.

His diatribe on Facebook drew a flood of responses from others who agreed with his assessment of Ghana’ s insecurity and ineffectual justice system.

Following the arrest of FixTheCountry’ s Oliver Barker- Vormawor, a post by political science professor Ransford Gyampo about what he calls prevalent selective justice in Ghana has sparked significant reactions.

On Facebook, the senior political science lecturer raged that the law is rapid in dealing with people like Mr Barker- Vormawor, a Cambridge law scholar and outspoken critic of the administration, but delayed in dealing with the murdered military officer Major Maxwell Mahama.

His remark comes after the FixTheCountry Convener was arrested and detained for reportedly driving erratically on his way to court.

He was rushed to court and held for eight hours before being released on bail. Mr Barker- Vormawor, who had been documenting his agony at the hands of the police on Facebook, sparked popular outrage, with many criticizing the administration.

Many analysts believed the social activist was being targeted by police because he was continusly criticizing Nana Akuffo Addo’s regime. Meanwhile, Ghlagatin has reported in a separate story that former President John Dramani Mahama has amused social media by sharing a rare photos he snapped when serving in the Ghana National Service.

The former president is dressed in a red T-shirt, big jeans trousers, and black shoes, according to several. Adam Mahama, his now- deceased brother, and two other people were in the shot.
