The finance minister has recently raised lots of concerns amongst Ghanaians after he was questioned about the prospect of the already implemented controversial E- levy aside from giving Ghanaians an assurance that the bill won’ t be collateralized.
Speaking in a recent interview during a press meeting, the finance minister under the Akufo Addo administration, Ken Ofori Atta unexpectedly took the privilege to highlight that, even though collateralizing the most talked- about electronic transaction bill is bad, he [Ken Ofori Atta] undoubtedly couldn’ t come up with a definite assurance that, the E- levy won’ t be collateralized irrespective of the massive concerns raised by most Ghanaians about the bill.

” I don’ t know; whether we will give an assurance that it won’ t be collateralized. Collateralization is bad; assurance is really, where is the economy going; what are the instruments that we have in our basket, and how do we deploy them? Unless you are categorical or you know something that o don’ t know.
Something that I don’ t know is that collateralization is bad. So I will not give you an assurance; I will at each point in time examine what we have and make a decision with the cabinet as to how best to use the resources of our country” , the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta emphatically revealed.
