Speaking in a recent interview on JoyNews’ ” Newsfile” show, the renowned broadcast journalist, Serwaa Amihere took the opportunity to express immense concerns aside revealing that, the incumbent government unexpectedly set up trolls to attack her on social media after addressing salient issues in the country under the administration of the incumbent government.
” I have experienced quite a number of things; there is nothing in that report that was not known to all of us. Since we all line here, we have had and seen several instances of abuse against journalists.
There have been many reports by journalists who say for the fear of their well- being, they don’ t criticize this government. I have had colleagues who have suffered one form of abuse or other threats.
I have had a couple of those instances quite many of them actually and you have to be careful you don’ t want certain attacks and at some point, you need to just slow down a bit because you question yourself if the impending attacks, are they really worth it? ” , Serwaa Amihere emphatically revealed.
