The popularly known Ghanaian broadcast journalist and editor- in- chief for Insight newspapers, Kwesi Pratt has recently come out to express immense disappointment in the Ghana media considering how they unexpectedly neglect salient issues bothering Ghanaians under the incumbent government.
Speaking in a recent interview on the most anticipated show on ” Good Morning Ghana” , the renowned journalist, Kwesi Pratt highlighted that, the media and journalists under the Akufo Addo led administration seem to have become silent when it came to addressing important issues in the country and hence, a similar situation occurred during the May Day celebrations.
” The Ghanaian media has serious shortcomings. To be honest, I am completely horrified by how the May Day parade was reported. If you observe the May Day parade, the workers came with placards; all the worker’ s organizations in this country came to the May Day parade and the placards spoke volumes.
It spoke about the anger of the workers; the demands they were making and so on. You won’ t find anywhere where there is the slightest suggestion that workers were angry with the government; the workers were actually protesting against the government and it was hidden, that is a huge problem. When you read all the papers reported on May Day, nobody mentioned the anger of the workers” , Kwesi Pratt emphatically revealed.
