The former President added that if not for that handball, Ghana would have gone ahead to win the ultimate. Speaking to Asamoah Gyan, Mr Mahama said ” 2010 was our opportunity but you know what Suarez did. We know that sometimes legends miss penalties, ” ” It broke the heart of all of Africa and I’ ve never forgiven Suarez for what he did but we put it behind us.

We’ ve done quite well. ” Although Asamoah was awarded a penalty after the handball he missed the pole by inches and Uruguay eliminated Ghana after they won 4- 2 on penalties.

The striker who was playing top flight football for English side Sunderland said after the world cup he met Luiz Suarez in an English Premier League match against Liverpool.

He got furious to the extent that he wanted to punch him but for the rules of the game he calmed down.

People spoke about the incident and it got into my head a bit. I remember when Sunderland faced Liverpool, during the exchange of handshakes, I watched him with some eye.

“I wanted to even punch him because people had said things that had gotten into my head, but I realized I had to let it go because I would’ve done the same thing of I was Suarez, “Gyan added.
