A Former Member of Parliament for North Dayi and a member of opposition National Democratic Congress, Mr George Loh has concluded that the deadly Covid- 19 pandemic which claimed many lives in Ghana and globally has been a blessing in disguise for His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo and the New Patriotic Party.
In an attempt to justify his comment, he elaborated that the Nana Addo led NPP administration has mismanaged the economy since 2017. Thanks to the outbreak of Covid- 19 they are blaming everything on the virus. In addition, because of that same Covid- 19 Ghana has been granted an aid of 2 million dollars.

” The world bank has said that pre- COVID19 we were already on a downward slide and they got 2m dollars of free money due to it. Covid19 was a blessing to the NPP” . In his opinion, the economy would have been worse off and our debt from borrowing will be more than the current figure if not for Covid- 19.
According to him, certain free money that Ghana received during the pandemic has in a way given room for Akufo Addo to improve a bit on economic indicators most importantly the virus has given the a reason to blame their incompetence on something. Meanwhile the Western Regional NPP Secretary, Mr Charles Bissue in a rebuttal said the NDC man’ s claim is a complete blasphemy.
He added that government has done enough during the Covid- 19 that needs to be applauded. He can describe the Covid- 19 as a curse and not a blessing to Ghana’ s Economy.
He indicated that with immediate effect, Government has imposed a complete moratorium on the purchase of imported Vehicles for the rest of the year.
