JUST IN: Ghana Police Service Reveals Shocking News About Bullion Van Attacks

The Ghana Police Service led by Inspector General Of Police Dr George Akufo Dampare is alleged to have put in place new measures to curtail the rising attacks on bullion vans and police officers in Ghana.

Ghana recorded a number of bullion van attacks particularly in 2021 which was later revealed that the attacks were carried out by some personnel of the Ghana Police Service. Moving forward, IGP Dampare reportedly has instructed that bullion vans should no more be escorted by one or two police officers but rather a police escort. In other words, the Police who is tasked to protect the bullion vans are no more trusted hence the need to beef up security.

Social commentator and a former member of the NPP, Kwame A Plus made the allegation on facebook. According to him Police are attacking bullion vans, robbing them and killing colleague officers in the act so police decided to protect bullion vans with a police escort. Ghana Police, a criminal organization with a few good men. Well done police” he retorted.

Under the former IGP Mr Oppong Boanuh, the Ghana Police Service directed that by June, 2021 all financial and banking Institutions to acquire an amoured bullion van but seems the target has not been met. ” The IGP is also reminding the Association of Bankers to provide fortified armoured vehicles for carting currencies by the close of June 2021 as earlier agreed between them and the Police Service, else the Police withdraws its officers for escort duties, ”

Mr. Dampare who has been applauded for the good work and reforms he has brought to Ghana Police Service since his appointment is bent on stopping attacks on billion vans in Ghana. Meanwhile the police officers who are suspected to have carried the attack are still in court pending verdict
