The USD35M state of the art facility financed by Ghana EXIM Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and the company’ s own equity, is a specialized factory with a sterile pharmaceutical plant for Infusions, Eye drops, Vaccines/Sera, Injections and General Anesthesia drugs.
The bone of contention now is whom the legacy of this company be given to. Ex President Mahama or President Akufo Nana Akufo Addo.

Strong defense have been put forward by New Patriotic Party to justify that indeed Atlantic Lifesciences Limited is an Akufo Addo initiated program under the one district one factory program.
On the other hand the NDC has attributed it to Mahama. The Member of Parliament of the area, Hon. Sam Nartey George giving his opening expressed gratitude to government, Exim Bank and other Institutions that financed the project but he emphasized that the company started under Ex President Mahama before they went to opposition and not one of the one district one factory projects.
He again pleaded to government to provide water for the area because the major problem of companies in that enclave is water. Now, Atlantic Lifesciences employs about 400 youths in Ningo Prampram and employment can be doubled if excess water is made available.
Another angle to this and from it that the company has stated on its website that it is a limited liability company and not a state owned business. This means that both Mahama and Akuffo Addo don’t have any hand in it
